Our family moved from Palo Alto to Bloomington, Indiana, in June 2008. Fiona and I drove our van and two fox terriers, taking US 50 to Utah, where we connected with I-70 for the final leg. In the aftenoon of our first day on the road, we took a break at Echo Lake, just west of Lake Tahoe. We took a boat across the lower lake to the upper lake, where we walked the trail and let the dogs get some exercise.
